Many members are unaware of the opportunity to belong to the Pentagon Federal Credit Union.  This is the official credit union of the USCG, and the Auxiliary is part of that.  Read information concerning this on the front page of the Summer 2007 issue of the Beacon.  In addition, all members should have received a letter from the PFCU that contains all information about benefits.  While it may not be for everyone, it is very beneficial to those who use a credit card, and this is such as can replace most others.  Keep your finances up to date and check out this benefit of belonging to the USCG Auxiliary.

Congratulations to our Operational Excellence Award winners.  Teams that qualify for the award are the finest example of what the Auxiliary can produce to face the many challenges of our evolving areas of operational responsibility.

The teams consist of volunteer members who study for and are subjected to rigorous training to acquire advanced skills in search and rescue, and seamanship. Their knowledge and performance is evaluated pursuant to active duty Coast Guard standards.

These award winners represent dedicated crew members that have raised their own standards of seamanship and operational expertise and by doing so have also raised those same standards in our entire Flotilla.
