Public Affairs Mission is to promote the Coast Guard Auxiliary in it's support of the United States Coast Guard to the public
The purpose of the Auxiliary Public Affairs program is to increase visibility of the Coast Guard Auxiliary missions such as public education programs and campaigns concerning boating safety and boater education classes, patrols and support of the United States Coast Guard in their non-military, non-law enforcement activities on the waters of the United States. These activities include:
Vessel Safety Checks (VSC), a free examination available to any recreational boater.
Boating safety courses including Boating Skills and Seamanship, sailing courses, and basic and advanced navigation courses.
Perimeter security for regattas and marine parades
Port Security Patrols
Support transport missions (personnel and supplies) during natural disasters
Verification of Aids to Navigation and updating nautical charts
Radio Watchstanding in support of both
Auxiliary and Coast Guard activities
